Climate of The Serengeti

Picture
The climate of the Serengeti is represented here in this climatogram. The graph shows that temperature only varies about 10 degrees C throughout the entire year, however, rainfall amounts in cm vary from nearly none to over 200 cm! This pattern is the cause of the distinct rainy and dry seasons experienced by this biome. In the rainy season, plants flourish and watering holes and rivers fill. In the dry season the water features dry out and plants wither away like as if it was a dessert. Both the temperatures and the rainfall amounts follow a similar trend. beginning in October, the rain begins to fall and the temperatures start to heat up. By June and July the rains begin to diminish and the temperature begins to drop.
